(NASDAQ: ATVI) today announced a worldwide, multi-year deal to develop and publish video games inspired by the new CG-animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Under the new agreement, Activision has the global rights to produce interactive games based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles property.

Review - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Wii)

It’s been a few months since we heard that . Although it was nice to see so much love and attention given to the villains and vigilantes of the franchise, a lot of fans were wondering if the company would ever get around to announcing the turtles themselves. Thankfully, we now have photographic evidence that they have been working on four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures. Needless to say, our heroes in a half shell are looking pretty darn good!

It should come as no surprise then that Paramount is announcing a sequel with a release date. reports that on the heels of TMNT‘s resoundingly successful opening, the studio has lined up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 for a June 3, 2016 release. Platinum Dunes will again produce, with screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec also returning, but director Jonathan Liebesman was not mentioned.
